Barbera Festival Tickets Now Available

Some would say that Amador County produces the best barbera in the world. Not sure? Want to make that determination for yourself? You can confirm this claim by attending the 10th annual Barbera Festival. This year, the festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 9, at Terra d’Oro Winery in the Sierra Foothills and will feature more than 50 wineries from throughout California.

Not familiar with barbera? It’s a red grape variety that was originally planted in Amador County in the early 1970s. It hails from Italy and can be produced in a variety of styles, from bright and juicy to dark and rich. One characteristic that makes this red wine unique is its higher natural acidity and lower tannin level, which makes it an ideal partner for food. With that in mind, festival-goers will have access to gourmet food prepared by top chefs at this year’s event.

Pre-sale tickets are now available. General Admission tickets are $50 each and Premier Access Passes are $85 each (this pass offers attendees early entry, and access to a special area located in the barrel room where guests can take a seat, stay cool, listen to music and relax).
