15th Annual Artistic License Awards

If you’re tired of watching people who aren’t real lawyers, but play them on TV, then here’s an event guaranteed to get you off the couch and into the orbit of the real thing: California Lawyers for the Arts’ Artistic License Awards. The evening recognizes organizations and people who have mastered their arts in extraordinary ways for the communities they serve. This year’s honorees are Donna Apidone, Dr. L. Steven Winlock, Richard Lewis, Create CA, and Operation Protect and Defend. Presenters include Ann Kanter, John Lescroart, Dennis Mangers, Dr. Sheree Meyer and Sacramento mayor Darrell Steinberg, with KVIE producer Marinda Johnson Sessoms acting as MC.

Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, a hosted wine bar and a silent auction—check out the work of well-known local artists Paula and Joseph Bellacera among other offerings—all set to the music of CLA board member and classical pianist Gerry Bryant, along with saxophonist Thomas Myers.
